Resolve to make at least one person happy every day, and then in ten years you may have made three thousand, six hundred and fifty persons happy, or brightened a small town by your contribution to the fund of general enjoyment.
Have a very Happy New Year. Best wishes from us all.

THIS WILL MAKE YOU CRY!
The story goes that some time ago, a man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, "This is for you, Daddy."
The man was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found out the box was empty. He yelled at her, stating, "Don't you know, when you give someone a present, there is supposed to be something inside? The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and cried, "Oh, Daddy, it's not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. They're all for you, Daddy."
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness.
Only a short time later, an accident took the life of the child. It is also told that her father kept that gold box by his bed for many years and, whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.
In a very real sense, each one of us, as humans beings, have been given a gold container filled with unconditional love and kisses... from our children, family members and friends. There is simply no other possession, anyone could hold, more precious than this.
Be safe, be happy.

Goodwill
To your enemy, forgiveness. To an opponent, tolerance. To a friend, your heart. To a customer, service. To all, charity. To every child, a good example. To yourself, respect.

“Where Do You REALLY Live?”
What do you use to see with? If you said your eyes… you're wrong. How about hearing? If you said ears… wrong again! You don't see or hear with your eyes or ears. Those are just end organs for collecting light and sound waves. To actually see and hear you have to interpret those waves with your nerves and brain (Nerve System) first.
In reality, you LIVE in your Nerve System. EVERYTHING you experience in life is processed through it… what you see, what you hear, what you feel. That's why Chiropractors care so much about keeping it healthy. If your Nerve System is stressed, there goes your ability to interpret your world, and there goes your ability to successfully navigate life.
Regular adjustments keep your Nerve System clear so you can respond to life's challenges in a positive way. If you're feeling a little foggy, or just disconnected from the world, maybe it's time for some Nerve System house cleaning. Give your Chiropractor a call today and get reconnected to Life.

The Knowledge: How not to gain weight over Christmas
Eat, drink and be merry - and keep trim, with these tips from Christina Howells, the nutritional expert at Home House gym in London.
Eat before you hit the party
Related articles
Skipping meals will often result in bingeing. If you have a party in the evening, make sure you eat two small meals and two balanced snacks beforehand, to maintain your blood sugar levels. Eat half an avocado and some crayfish, or a matchbox portion of hummus with two oatcakes before a party - this will reduce the likelihood of you heading straight to find food.
Get the ratios right
It's often the amount we eat that is the real problem. Aim to make vegetables the largest portion on your plate. A portion of carbohydrates need be no bigger than a tight fist, and protein the size and thickness of the palm of your hand.Luckily, our Christmas tradition is to have turkey, which is good for you. Ifyou don't eat meat, salmon is a great alternative and is full of essentialfats.
Chew on it
It takes an average of 15 to 20 minutes for the stomach to signal to the brain that it's full. By then it may be too late, because you have taken a second helping of Christmas pudding. Take time to chew, pay attention to what Auntie Mildred is waffling on about and it may just pay off in your favour.
Avoid fatty snacks
Watch out for calorie-laden treats such as mince pies. These are the little extras we can do without. Remember, Christmas is a social time of year, so rather than dive for the buffet spend more time chatting and dancing. At the dinner table don't be afraid to say no to seconds. If you say, 'No, thanks,' and don't give an explanation, people tend not to ask any more questions. As soon as you say, 'It's because I'm watching my weight,' they'll say, 'Go on, have another potato.' Stick to your guns.
Watch your alcohol intake
Alcohol contains useless calories that disrupt your blood sugar levels and increase appetite. This is why you crave sugar when you have a hangover. You don't haveto be a saint but, if you're going to drink, try to limit your intake and havea glass of water between each alcoholic drink.
You don't need to do a full workout on Christmas Day but a walk after lunch will definitely make you feel better. As soon as you stop exercising for a period of time you feel more tired and more inclined to think, 'Oh well, I may as well eat and drink what I want.' If you keep yourself active, come January you won't find it difficult to get back into your normal routine.

Auld Lang Syne
Traditionally sung at New Year, Auld Land Syne reflects perfectly on the meaning of New Year celebrations.
Written by Scots poet Robert Burns in 1741, it wasn’t published until 1796, after his death. ‘Auld Lang Syne’ literally means ‘old long ago,’ or simply, ‘the good old days.’ And for the record, the traditional crossing of hands should not be done until the fourth verse!
Auld Lang Syne
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and days of auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne
We twa hae run aboot the braes
And pou’d the gowans fine;
we’ve wander’d mony a weary foot
Sin’ auld lang syne
We two hae paidled i’ the burn,
Frae mornin’ sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
Sin’ auld lang syne
And here’s a hand, my trusty friend,
And gie’s a hand o’ thine;
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne

The Origin of The Twelve Days of Christmas.
There is one Christmas Carol that has always baffled me.
What in the world do leaping lords, French hens, swimming swans, and especially the partridge who won't come out of the pear tree have to do with Christmas?
From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics.
It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember.
One true love refers to God
Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.
Three French hens stood for Faith, Hope and Charity, the Theological Virtues
The four calling birds were the Four Gospels and/or the Four Evangelists Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.
The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, first Five Books of the Old Testament, the "Pentateuch", which gives the history of man's fall from grace.
The six geese a-laying stood for the the six days of creation.
Seven swans a-swimming represented the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, the seven sacraments: Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.
The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.
Nine ladies dancing were the nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.
The ten lords a-leaping were the Ten Commandments.
The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful apostles.
The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of doctrine in the Apostle's Creed.
So there is your history for today. This knowledge was shared with me and I found it interesting and enlightening and now I know how that strange song became a Christmas Carol.

The most important Life Line of them All
Fortune tellers read the life line in the palm of a client's hand. Cardiologists interpret the blipping life lines of a patient's EKG. But Chiropractors dedicate their work to the most important life line of them all… the spinal cord and its protective covering, the spine.
The spine itself is an engineering marvel. Made up of articulating bones called vertebrae, each segment lines up perfectly with the next to provide both support to your body and protection to the spinal cord. It's this critical relationship between spinal alignment and the flow of Life through the spinal cord that Chiropractors are devoted to. Distort the alignment of the spine and you distort the flow of Life through the cord. Distort the flow of Life through the cord and you distort the expression of health in your body.
For a Chiropractor, smooth lateral curves and plumb postures are more than just simple diagnostic findings. They’re the validation that Life itself is flowing freely through the patient like a river. And as long as Life courses through the line, healing is sure to follow.

Although the extension cords are all connected and each individual Christmas light has been inspected with precision, he's still not connected to the source.
It's a classic holiday movie scene. Clark Griswold stands with bated breath and extension cords in hand as a childlike giddiness overtakes him. The family drum roll commences, he makes the much anticipated electrical connection and VOILA… nothing happens.
Clark has a power problem. Although the extension cords are all connected and each individual Christmas light has been inspected with precision, he's still not connected to the source. It isn't until his wife 'adjusts' an obscure switch in the garage, and turns the main POWER back on that the light show begins. She'd actually make a good Chiropractor!
If your wiring (nerve system) is connected and your body parts have all been dutifully inspected by the best doctor in the world, you still won't function to your potential if you're not connected 100% to your source… the Life creating power that flows from above, down, inside, out. Make sure you and your family stay connected to it with regular Chiropractic care during this bustling holiday season. You glow brighter when your power switch is on.

Chiropractic Fires Up Your LIFE!
A chain reaction occurs when a small event ignites a reaction nearby, setting off another reaction, then another, until it produces an ultimate result. Getting your health back with Chiropractic care happens in a similar way.
Chiropractors start the process with a small event called an Adjustment. Spinal adjustments restore a state of Ease in your nerve system which ignites Healing. Over Time your body's internal Functions light up and you experience Benefits like stronger immunity, deeper sleep, greater physical performance and a confident sense of well being. The ultimate thing that lights up is your LIFE.
The goal of Chiropractic is to ignite Life within you so you can regain your health, fulfill your purpose and bring more joy to those around you. Staying 'lit up' with regular Chiropractic care is one of the best gifts you can give yourself and those you love the most.

TOYS FOR ADJUSTMENT DAY
“This year we will be supporting The Salvation Army with their Christmas Present Appeal. On Thursday 15th December we will be offering a treatment in exchange for a gift. We are asking our clients to bring along a suitable new toy or a few smaller toys up to the value of a treatment – which is known to our patients as an adjustment. We are asking patients to attach a Christmas message from themselves or their own children, for that special personal touch.”
The toys will be delivered in time for Christmas to local children in the area who might otherwise have very little or nothing on Christmas morning. Even if people do not have an appointment on this day, they may wish to bring in a toy during the week.

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN!!!!
Healthy Hangover Cures
- Vit C and Milk thistle good combo, before and after a night out. Milk thistle protects the liver, and lessens the hangover. Can buy in droplet form or tablets from a health food shop.
- Lemon in warm water next day. Alcohol is quite acidic, whereas the lemon/water combo makes the body more alkaline, it's natural state.
- nettle tea or dandelion tea the next morning, again help flush out toxins, and clear out the liver.
- banana supposed to be good, as is full of potassium, which may have been lost by the body as alcohol is a diuretic, and makes you go to the toilet.
- loads of good quality filtered water the next day.
- loads of veg, and good quality food. Green juice if you have a juicer is excellent to get nourishment back into cells.
- walk in the fresh air, or by the sea!

Your Body within 1 Hour of Drinking Soda
10 minutes: 10 teaspoons of sugar hit your system, which is 100 percent of your recommended daily intake. You'd normally vomit from such an intake, but the phosphoric acid cuts the flavor.
20 minutes: Your blood sugar skyrockets. Your liver attempts to maximize insulin production in order to turn high levels of sugar into fat.
40 minutes: As your body finishes absorbing the caffeine, your pupils dilate, your blood pressure rises, and your liver pumps more sugar into the bloodstream. Adenosine receptors in your brain are blocked preventing you from feeling how tired you may actually be.
45 minutes: Your body increases dopamine production, tricking you into feeling pleasure and adding to the addictiveness of the beverage. This physical neuro response works the same way as it would if we were consuming heroin.
60 minutes: The phosphoric acid binds calcium, magnesium and zinc in your lower intestine, which boosts your metabolism a bit further. High doses of sugar and artificial sweeteners compound this effect, increasing the urinary excretion of calcium. The caffeine’s diuretic properties come into play. (You have to GO!) Your body will eliminate the bonded calcium, magnesium and zinc that was otherwise heading to your bones. And you will also flush out the sodium, electrolytes and water. Your body has eliminated the water that was in the soda. And in the process it was infused with nutrients and minerals your body would have otherwise used to hydrate your system or build body cells, bones, teeth.

Flu Shots Have More Than 250x EPA Mercury Safety Limit
Anthony Gucciardi...
Thimerosal is a widely used vaccine preservative that is present in the majority of flu shots and other vaccines. Thimerosal is 49% mercury by volume, an extremely toxic chemical element that wreaks havoc on the nervous system, neurological function, and overall biological function [1]. Each dose of flu vaccine contains around 25 micrograms of thimerosal, over 250 times the Environmental Protection Agency’s safety limit of exposure.
Mercury, a neurotoxin, is especially damaging to undeveloped brains. Considering that 25 micrograms of mercury is considered unsafe by the EPA for any human under 550 pounds, the devastating health effects of mercury on a developing fetus are truly concerning.
Though thimerasol is not entirely mercury, the mercury content is still extremely high, making it very toxic to the human body. Despite highly exceeding the EPA safety standards for mercury content by over 250 times, flu shots are still recommended for children over 6 months and pregnant women.
It seems that the age groups that are urged to receive the flu shot are actually most affected by mercury exposure. Young children, pregnant women, and elderly are the ‘targeted’ demographic of flu shot manufacturers, and these individuals also happen to have the least defense against the elemental neurotoxin mercury.
Dr. Russel Blaylock, a leading neurologist, expains:
In addition to mercury, vaccines also contain other toxic fillers and preservatives that have been linked to health conditions such as cancer:

Dr. Russel Blaylock, a leading neurologist, expains:
A recent study looked at the immune reaction in newborn infants up to the age of one year who had received the HepB vaccine to see if their immune reaction differed from adults getting the same vaccine. What they found was that the infant, even after age one year, did react differently. Their antibody levels were substantially higher than adults (3-fold higher) and it remained higher throughout the study.
In essence, they found that the babies responded to the vaccine by having an intense Th2 response that persisted long after it should have disappeared, a completely abnormal response. In 2004, the The Coalition for Mercury-free Drugs petitioned the FDA to limit the use of thimerosal in vaccine citing safety concerns. In a reply made public years later, the FDA denied the request despite overwhelming evidence that mercury is harmful to the human body [2] [3] [4].
In addition to mercury, vaccines also contain other toxic fillers and preservatives that have been linked to health conditions such as cancer:
- Aluminum: Also a neurotoxin, aluminum has been linked to Alzheimer’s disease [5] and other cognitive diseases [6].
- Formaldehyde: Among the 8 new substances to be added to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services list of carcinogens.
- Antibiotics: Various forms include neomycin, streptomycin, and gentamicin.
- Triton X-100: A detergent that should not be injected into the human bloodstream.

Check out this photo of the insides of an overweight person.
Body scan of 250 lb woman and 120 lb woman. If this isn't motivation to work out, I don't know what is! I'm NOT implying that a women needs to weigh 120 lbs...that's no where near realistic for some people...but it is about health and longevity and the damage obesity causes. Look at the size of the intestines and stomach; how the knee joints rub together; the enlarged heart; and the fat pockets near the brain. Not good.

Fantastic Quote
"A human being is a part of a whole, called by us 'universe', a part limited in time and space.
He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.
This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us.
Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." Einstein

Your nervous system controls what? Without your nervous system can you function? The spine houses and protects the spinal cord. The spinal cord sends messages everywhere. If your spine is misaligned do you think that could that prevent your body from working properly? Imagine putting a kink in a garden hose. Turn the tap full on. It works.... but it could work better.

Subject: Great Speech by Pulitzer Prize winner: Anna Quindlen
This was a speech made by Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Anna Quindlen at the graduation ceremony of an American university where she was awarded an Honorary PhD.
"I'm a novelist. My work is human nature. Real life is all I know. Don't ever confuse the two, your life and your work. You will walk out of here this afternoon with only one thing that no one else has. There will be hundreds of people out there with your same degree: there will be thousands of people doing what you want to do for a living. But you will be the only person alive who has sole custody of your life. Your particular life. Your entire life. Not just your life at a desk, or your life on a bus, or in a car, or at the computer. Not just the life of your mind, but the life of your heart. Not just your bank accounts but also your soul.
People don't talk about the soul very much anymore. It's so much easier to write a resume than to craft a spirit. But a resume is cold comfort on a winter's night, or when you're sad, or broke, or lonely, or when you've received your test results and they're not so good.
Here is my resume: I am a good mother to three children. I have tried never to let my work stand in the way of being a good parent. I no longer consider myself the centre of the universe. I show up. I listen. I try to laugh. I am a good friend to my husband. I have tried to make marriage vows mean what they say. I am a good friend to my friends and they to me. Without them, there would be nothing to say to you today, because I would be a cardboard cut out. But I call them on the phone, and I meet them for lunch. I would be rotten, at best mediocre at my job if those other things were not true.
You cannot be really first rate at your work if your work is all you are. So here's

Get a life in which you notice the smell of salt water pushing itself on a breeze at the seaside, a life in which you stop and watch how a red-tailed hawk circles over the water, or the way a baby scowls with concentration when she tries to pick up a sweet with her thumb and first finger.
Get a life in which you are not alone. Find people you love, and who love you. And remember that love is not leisure, it is work. Pick up the phone. Send an email. Write a letter. Get a life in which you are generous. And realize that life is the best thing ever, and that you have no business taking it for granted. Care so deeply about its goodness that you want to spread it around. Take money you would have spent on beer and give it to charity. Work in a soup kitchen. Be a big brother or sister. All of you want to do well. But if you do not do good too, then doing well will never be enough.
It is so easy to waste our lives, our days, our hours, and our minutes. It is so easy to take for granted the colorof our kids' eyes, the way the melody in a symphony rises and falls and disappears and rises again. It is so easy to exist instead of to live.
I learned to live many years ago. I learned to love the journey, not the destination. I learned that it is not a dress rehearsal, and that today is the onlyguarantee you get. I learned to look at all the good in the world and try to give some of it back because I believed in it, completely and utterly. And I tried to do that, in part, by telling others what I had learned. By telling them this: Consider the lilies of the field. Look at the fuzz on a baby's ear. Read in the back yard with the sun on your face. Learn to be happy. And think of life as a terminal illness, because if you do, you will live it with joy and passion as it ought to be lived".

How do Children Benefit from Chiropractic?
How do Children Benefit from Chiropractic?
Life is a miracle. Two cells become four and four become eight and so on until nine months later a perfect human being enters the world. His little heart started beating at 24 days. Her eyes formed at 36 days. This miracle unfolds perfectly – unless there is interference. Which is why children can benefit from chiropractic before they are born by having a mother with a nervous system free from the interference of spinal subluxations.
With pregnancy come hormonal changes, a shift in body weight and a laxity of connective tissues. New stresses are experienced by the lower back and pelvis. Many women report that their pregnancies were easier and their delivery times shorter when they received chiropractic care. Even today’s birthing procedures can put tremendous pressures on a child’s spine. And while the injury from forceps deliveries may be less common today, vacuum extraction and eager hands can do even more damage by pulling, forcing and twisting the baby’s young spine.
Without the language to explain, many newborns experience colic, unexplained crying, lack of appetite, frequent ear infections or other signs of poor health. A chiropractic examination is essential to determine if birth trauma to the spine is involved.
If indicated, a gentle, life-affirming adjustment is given. With no more pressure than you’d use to test the ripeness of a tomato, nerve-compromising subluxations can be reduced. Almost miraculously, many parents see instant improvements in the well-being of their child.
Later, regular chiropractic checkups are helpful to monitor spinal development as infants sit upright, support their heads, learn to crawl and take their first brave steps. Many experts believe that uncorrected spinal problems during this early stage of development cause the chronic, hard-to-correct subluxations seen in adults.
Sadly, bedwetting and many childhood aches and pains are passed off as “growing pains” or “just a phase they’re going through.” Careful! Aches and pains at any age are a sign that something isn’t right. Subluxations may be involved.
As you make decisions about your baby’s health care and are confronted with the issues of antibiotics, vaccinations and the growing use of behaviour altering drugs, consult with your chiropractor. Seek accurate information and make an informed choice. First, make sure you child has the best change to be all that he or she can be by having a nervous system free of subluxations.
How can something as natural as being born cause subluxations?Being born is a natural phenomenon. It’s what we’ve done to the birth process that has become increasingly suspect. In hospitals, birth is often treated like a disease. A newborn’s introduction to the world is often accompanied by a severe drop in temperature, loud noises and other insensitivities. The administration of drugs and anaesthesia can have a profound effect on a newborn/
Will my paediatrician approve of chiropractic care for my child?
First, you don’t need anyone’s approval to seek a chiropractic opinion about health issues affecting your child! Medical practitioners keeping up with the latest paediatric chiropractic research are starting to understand the value of this natural, drug-free approach to better health.
Will adjustments hurt my baby? This is a common concern among parents who mistakenly think that their child will receive adjustments like they ones they receive. Adjusting techniques are modified for each person’s size and unique spinal problem, and an infant’s spine rarely has the long-standing muscle tightness seen in adults. This makes a child’s chiropractic adjustments gentle, comfortable and effective.

Chiropractic for a more comfortable pregnancy and labor
Pregnant women benefit greatly from Chiropractic care with benefits that can include the baby as well.
Pregnancy can be a time of joy and exciting anticipation, yet for some the experience is coloured by pain, discomfort and illness. This is often because pregnant women undergo many structural and hormonal changes that affect the spine, nerves, joints, ligaments, connective tissues, centre of gravity and stability. Your Chiropractor can ensure that the spine, pelvis and related structures are balanced, moving easily and free from dysfunction.
When free of vertebral dysfunction, the mother-to-be experiences pregnancy at a greater level of comfort, health and vitality and can better handle the rigor of childbirth.
Drugless Approach to Health
During pregnancy there are many medications that are unsafe to use. Chiropractic’s approach to pain is another reason why it is valued during pregnancy.
Pregnant Women Have Special Concerns
There are so many things pregnant women worry about: staying pregnant, carrying the baby to full term, morning sickness, the baby developing normally, backaches, leg pain and if their labor will be safe and (hopefully) easy.
Can Chiropractic care help ease their minds? Chiropractic care has been observed to help pregnant and birthing women for many years. Chiropractors have been performing spinal adjustments on pregnant women for over a hundred years and have noted that chiropractic spinal corrective care can help reduce pain associated with pregnancy.
Chiropractic Improves Baby’s Birth Position
Pre-natal Chiropractic techniques release stress on the pelvis and uterus, helping the unborn child to turn and position itself properly for a healthy birth presentation.
